Two Row Wampum Renewal Campaign
As long as the grass is green, as long as the waters flow downhill, and
as long as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West.
Two Row Wampum organizers met with the UN Permanent Secretariat on
Indigenous Issues on April 2.
The Two Row Wampum Renewal Campaign went to the United Nations on April
2. Two Row organizers Oren Lyons, Jake Edwards, Tonya
Gonnella-Frichner, Bork Edwards and Andy Mager met with officials of
the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. The Permanent
Forum was represented by Chief of the Secretariat of the Permanent
Forum Chandra Roy-Henriksen, staffers Sonia Smallacombe and Nilla
Bernardi. They were excited to work with the Two Row Campaign to
arrange for a proper United Nations greetings of our group when we
arrive at the UN on the afternoon of Friday, August 9. In addition, we
are continuing discussions about collaboration on their annual
commemoration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous
Peoples later that day.
