Hi guys!

I was just wondering how all of the steampunk etsy artists were doing
with all the competition that is now flooding etsy? Do you like it?
Hate it?

I personally find it to be frustrating and wish it was 2008 again,
when there were only a few shops that carried steampunk and it wasw a
relatively "new" phenomenon. But I guess in the spirit of competition,
you always have to stay ahead of the trends. This is why I am no
longer going to be making steampunk after June 2009, but instead
focusing all my time and my efforts on my Gothic Lolita, Victorian,
and gothic jewelry collections.

I'm afraid when steampunk dies it will die DEAD.

Give me your thoughts.

If it weren’t for Etsy, I wouldn’t even know Steampunk existed. It
sort of exploded around the gift guides for Christmas, I noticed. I
personally love the style, but I have noticed QUITE a bit of increase
in the stores that carry it. I think if you find a niche, stick with
it. For example, if your pendants sell well, make only those. Have you
seen fewer sales with this increase?
