PEOPLE! It is time we should start IndianWebComics page on Wikipedia and expand it.

I second the notion!

The current one is a subsection of Indian comics, and has a few listed that arent even alive anymore.

Anyone got any wikipedia experience?

The list at Sandeep's blog is quite thorough..  http://sandeep.co.in/2008/09/20/list-of-web-comics-by-indians/

Although his site is blocking me right now, saying "You Are Banned. We have received tons of spam from your IP before."!!  Sandeep, are you on this list? I assure you, I have not spammed you EVER! :-)

In this subsection, I just added a link to IndianWebComics. This page of course needs to be created now and expanded.

I'll work on it too. Other volunteers are most welcome.

How follish of me. So is anyone doing this in a systematic way? Because if we randomly add shit, it'll get rejected by the "quality editors" or someone. (I've tried this earlier).

Also, it doesnt allow linking outside from within the article body. So individual comics will have to make their own wikipedia page, or something...

in my opinion first create a wikia for indian webcomics. Wikipedia do not tolerate content which is for a particular niche.

I'm going to make an aggregator/wiki/showcase/article+whatever thing soon. On indianwebcomics.com    But this effort was mostly for putting us on wikipedia.

Just as an introduction mainly.. that such things exist. Then we can ooh and aah over each other's blog on indianwebcomics.com when that launches.

In case anyone wants to pitch in for I.W.C.feel free to jump in...

Yes. We have to take care here.
Let us start collecting links to reliable sources on indian web comics apart from our own Google group? ;)

1. Saad, can you give link to newspaper article of your's?
2. I've seen another article of Shitoons in economic times some time back... need link to that. Whoever has it pass it on here...
3. Any other reliable sources talking about your work?
4. registered ISBN of your comics if it exists...

etc. etc. grunt...grunt...

Also a mention in Tehelka

BROWN STRIPS

Are we witnessing a mini-wave of Indian web comics? Besides the super-hot and entertaining Savita Bhabhi, a very different sort of Indian girl makes her appearance in Brown Girls. The online comic strip, conceived by USbased Deepa Sood and Monica Mehta, is funny, political and for now a little Obama-obsessed. The strip kicked up a storm by suggesting that NRIs would rather die than let their children date African-Americans. Delhi-based Saad Akthar’s comic Fly You Fools too has a wicked spot on the net. Just as political but far less politically correct, Akthar takes on everything from terrorism to Rock On. We want more!

And of course, it'll be injustice NOT to include the most famous Indian webcomic of all times - I speak of, of course, Savita the adventurous bhabhi. There's just about been an avalanche of newspaper articles and TV khulaasas on S.B.

Greatbong on SB, Tehelka on SB

There was an interview of brainstuck on beingablogger.com , but the site seems to be down (original link, google cache)

I guess more to come...
