 Ratti in Hindi, 
Gunja in sanskrit, 

Abrus precatorius
Sub. fam Papilionaceae
Fam. Leguminosae


Climber
Habitat dry lands, fence
First time sighting, looks like its a rare in our region or on the verge of becoming rare. 
Used in weighing gold.
The shiny bright red and black colored seeds of this climber are considered to be highly poisonous.

Yes Tanay,  dazzling seeds. But  even small quantities of this seeds are considered lethal,  poisonous (formed from globulin, albumose (Proteids))  effects are compared with that of cobra snake's poison. The seed loses its poisonous properties when boiled. 

During the last October holidays we played a checkered game at home using these red and black seeds.  Holding it in my hands, I admired the bright colors and tested the hardness without knowing its hidden qualities.   Will take all precautions from now.

Yes Raghu ji, I knew this was were poisonous in bengali we call it " RATI"
