Acanthus ilicifolius of family Acanthaceae.
Common name: Sea Holly
Usually found in marshy areas - Mangrove forest

Yes Satish ji,
you are right. I have seen this plant in almost all mangrove patches
in and around Mumbai but as one moves in norther direction from
Mumbai, specifically in Dahanu Tehsil of Thane district I have not
come across A. ilicifolius.

Anyone of us has encountered A. ilicifolius in that region.
