Torilis nodosa (L.) Gaertn., De. Fruct. 1:82. 1788.
Syn: Caucalis nodosa Crantz, Tordylium nodosum Linn.

The species is distinct from T. japonica in umbels lacking peduncles, absence of involucre bracts and straight glochidiate spines on fruit.
