Few days ago there was a discussion on this species.
Blyxa octandra is a fast-growing, submerged aquatic plant belonging to the family Hydrocharitaceae. Native to freshwater bodies of Konkan Maharashtra, it is typically found in shallow, slow-moving streams, ponds, and rice paddies. Characterized by its narrow, grass-like leaves arranged in a rosette and distinct floral morphology with usually eight stamens (hence the name octandra), the plant thrives in nutrient-rich, well-lit environments. It is occasionally used in aquascaping but is more common in natural wetland ecosystems.
