Dear Prashant,
Thank you so much for letting us know about the name of this mushroom.
The one in the picture must be two days old.
I had seen the first one in the company of a Jane Kurba (tribe) old
man, many years ago as a young boy. It was so attractive with rainbow
like rings round it. It was fully open like an unbrella. I wished to
pick it when the old kurba pushed me aside stating that it is deadly
poisonous and as such they call it Kaal Kuppa. The tribals state that
anyone touching it with his foot risks the possibility of losing his
leg.
I am not sure it was a pure coincidence that somebody got gangrene on
his foot or the mushroom is really poisonous. I have seen quite a few
of these tribals with gangrenous foot. I have come across young men
sreaming in pain due to such foot ailments.
Regards
Yazdy Palia.
