Dear all,
 
Pl find a few images of Clerodendrum colebrookianum Walp. (Verbenaceae).

Date/Time- June, 2009

Location- Place, Altitude, GPS- Itanagar, ca 350m

Habitat- Garden/ Urban/ Wild/ Type- Wild

Plant Habit- Tree/ Shrub/ Climber/ Herb- Shrub

Height/Length- upto 2 m high

Uses -Leaves are bitter in taste, boiled and eaten as vegetable. Very good remedy for hypertension. Known to contain five different types of steroids called Colebrin A-E. (Ref. Yang Hui et al. 2000, New steroids from Clerodendrum colebrookianum. Fitoterapia 71(6): 641-648.

Vernacular name: Oen (Adi tribes); Papa-shishung (Memba tribes).
