Kindly help us to zero on the species.

... me too believing it to be karvi ... Strobilanthes callosus (syn. Carvia callosa).
Shivaprakash ji ... if possible, please post larger size photo (~150 Kb).

... many thanks for correcting the name, Pankaj.
There are so many sites which are putting it as Strobilanthes callosus including NPGS / GRIN  ... that Strobilanthes callosa would pass as a typo !!

Dear Dinesh Sir,

Unfortunately, all those sites are giving wrong info. I checked. Not a
big deal. I think people assumed that genus is ending with 's' so the
species should also end that way, but the fact is genus ends with "es"
which has a different gender than "s" or "us".

The image of original description attached from volume 3 page no. 85
of Plantae Asiaticae rariores, or, Descriptions and figures of a
select number of unpublished East Indian plants /by N. Wallich. Which
is most authentic info in the world for this particular taxa.

Do you want me to translate in latin?
