Looks like "Carissa congesta".

Many thanks Prashant :) ... it must be Carissa congesta, and not what I guessed as Rauvolfia serpentina.

It is certainly Carissa congesta (Hindi : Karaunda). Prashant ji has already identified.

'Carissa congesta' called 'Karvand' 'करवंद' or 'Karmard' 'करमर्द' in Marathi.
 
and
 
'Carissa Bispinosa' syn. 'C. arduina' called 'Vilayati Karvand' 'विलायती करवंद' in Marathi.

Again a typical observation.
The plants flower 1-2 months later in northern India as compared to that in Maharashtra.
We had been observing the flowering in March.
