Neither Abelmoschus esculentus=bhindi , nor Abelmoschus manihot , both ruled out on account of epicalyx .
I have no exposure to Abelmoschus moschatus , but it is supposed to have showy flowers .

Keys in Malvaceae of Southern Peninsular India: A Taxonomic Monograph By V. V. Sivarajan, A. K. Pradeep (1996- Details) & Flora of China lead me to Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik.
There is difference of opinion for treatment of its varieties or subspecies in Malvaceae of Southern Peninsular India: A Taxonomic Monograph (treated all under Abelmoschus manihot without any variety or subspecies) and efloras like Flora of China (keys given) and Checklist of Nepal.
In view, I am keeping this under Abelmoschus manihot subsp. tetraphyllus (Roxb. ex Hornem.) Borss.Waalk. var. tetraphyllus only.

This is the latest update for Abelmoschus sp for Nepal.
I think we should review posts from Nepal.
Thank you.

As the stem appears to be prickly, it will be Abelmoschus manihot subsp. tetraphyllus var. tetraphylla as per keys herein.

Dear Mr. Garg,

According to the latest book, Abelmoschus manihot subsp. tetraphyllus var. tetraphylla has got
no distribution in Nepal.

I guess this is close to Abelmoschus manihot var. pungens (Roxb.) Hochr.

Thank you.
