Dear friends,
Saw this medium sized tree with white buds at a resort in Kumarakom, Kerala on 17/10/2008.
Syzygium?

Thanks for a possible id.
I am familiar with Calophyllum inophyllum.
As far as my understanding goes, the buds are round.
Experts kindly correct me if wrong.

I think you are right Aarti ji. It looks like Syzygium to me too. It may be S. malaccense.

I agree that it is S. jambos because: the twigs are brown, the leaves are dark green and lanceolate.
