Hi,
  I believe the same is also true for the Screw Fruit Bush [Helicterus isora] locally called Murudsheng, where the flowers change from red to purple - though not seen here in these photographs.

.. The change in the color  is due to the pollination process..
 Once the flower is pollinated, it changes it s color so as to convey the next approching pollinator that you have nothing to do.!:)
