Dear friends
I have planned to visit Valley of Flowers from 18Jul to 26 Jul 2026.
I fondly remember our interactions in the group after a few members had done the botanical excursion there in 2012. We also celebrated the VOF week after that.
I was scanning through various messages to search for potential observations as regards to species. Since the trip is in the early part of the season I expect some early bloomers to observe.
I request everyone for any suggestions for my upcoming trip.
I was surprised to know and find an excellent Excel sheet prepared by me about some 470 odd species classified as per family and genus names. I had totally forgotten as I am not very active in the group.
Thanks in anticipation
Regards

Dear Satish Ji,

Namaste..

First of all, I convey my best wishes to you for a pleasant journey and a wonderful experience...
I hope you have done the bookings through any service provider. Because this is the most popular way of visiting that place..
Rains have started little late this year and your visiting period shall see emergence of a lot of beautiful plants. The place itself is really beautiful, and Botanizing requires a fair deal of trekking.

I am sure you will bring back a lot of sweet memories and a bucket full of Himalayan plants..

Satish ji, good to know that you are visiting VOF, my dream place, which I could not join in 2012 when Balkar and Nidhan made exploration and shared many interesting plants. I fear I won't be able to join you also as we are presently in California with our son and would reach back India only on September 1. We are sure you will find some new interesting plants to share with us all. Our best wishes for a very successful trip. We have had many similar plants from Our Trips to Chakrata, Chopta, Tungnath  with sweet Company of Balkar, Nidhan, Anil Thakur, Smita and others and of course similar heights in Kashmir.

I have returned back from a successful trip to Valley of Flowers. Due to heavy fog and rains our total time for exploration in the valley was restricted a lot but we could find many plants on the way to Hemkund. Also we did one trek on a prior day during our acclimatization at Gorson Bugyal Auli. It was a big plateau with a lot of flowers.
I am in the process of compiling the pictures....this time only on iPhone though. Will share soon.
Thanks and regards

Dear Sam
The roadside Arisaemas are badly trampled. Look carefully for the number of leaves and with the help of sticks and clearing the plants closer to the walking route you may come across some uncommon varieties
Especially the 3 leaved ones and different patterned ones.

After going through a big treasure from Garg ji from Amarnath Yatra, we are now waiting for your treasure from Valley of Flowers, both my favourites.

Dear All,
I am successfully completed my journey to Rishikesh, Valley of Flowers, Hemkund Sahib, Badrinath and Vasudhara Falls (6km trekking from Mana the First Village.
A very wonderful exploring experience and enjoyment in the pleasant sunny climate. More than 300 plant species new to me could be documented in three days.  And reached safely 🙏
