Common names: Island mallow, malva rosa
Shrub up to 5 m tall; leaves 7-15 cm broad, 5-7 lobed, lobes triangular, toothed; flowers solitary, on recurved pedicels; epicalyx 4, ovate, united only at base; petals rose-purple with darker veins, about 4 cm long; mericarps woody, about 6 mm long.
