I saw these flowers regularly during this season at Botanical Garden, Kolkata, coming out the ground along with the grass. Shot taken recently there.

There are two pink varieties too - one is rosea - and they are in full bloom right now in our gardens across north India. They self-sow in pots and flower beds, and are prolific breeders.
