when you dont know the tree you should include
the trunk...surface bark, branches ... their surface
leaves .... shape size
and edges of the leaves
and in case of maples, the axillary buds

do you have those pictures?

Usha Di,
These pictures were taken when my friend was driving me to her house.
Couldn't stop that long on a road to get the details.
From far, it looked as if the tree had dried up.
Sorry.
Regards,
Aarti

science is science
given correct data.... distant diagnosis of the rarest diseases in humans is accomplished everyday in this world.

there are at least 100 maples, takes a lifetime to be an expert

yet, give a botanist , any botanist  correct data like at least one leaf in complete profile,
and a good bark picture, a reasonable diagnosis could possibly be made....

read these sites
and may be you will become your own expert

(Please forgive that I have used copy/paste to make this message - today I am very tired.)
When we say that a particular plant does not 'occur' in any given location, we are talking about a natural occurrence. There are several Norway Maples that have been planted in Georgia. There are different hybrids such
as:  Acer platanoides 'Crimson King", A. patanoides 'Maltese Cross', A. patanoides 'Novusch', 'Paldiski', 'Rezek', 'Walderseel''. there may be others but that's as far as I have researched. And I agree that we need more information such as the bark/trunk, front and back of the leaves, fruits/seed pods, etc. We can only offer guesses when given a small amount of information.
