The correct name is Bombax ceiba L.(syn: Bombax malabaricum DC.Salmalia malabarica (DC.) Schott & Endl)

All following databases treat them as synonyms of Bombax ceiba






It would be interesting to know which reputed recent publication, treats Indian plant as independent.

i dont think this is similar to our native tree.
