As per tropicos & eflora of North America,
Ranunculus aquatilis var. diffusus With. has rage in North America.

Dr. Munshi R. aquatilis var. diffusus is synonym of R. trichophyllus, an aquatic plant with thread like leaf segments and white flowers.

Interesting but true, this upload is similar to upload by Saroj ji
But it is very different from many other uploads on R. diffusus page
May be they represent two different species
Some one should work on this aspect
