Many many thanks Muthu for pointing to Beilschmiedia and allied species.

I did a little bit of checking on the internet for Beilschmiedia dalzellii / Beilschmiedia wightii / Phoebe paniculata.

Beilschmiedia wightii seems the best candidate - because of the glossy upper surface of the leaves, the distinctly pale underside with the heavy, prominent midrib.
