Many thanks Saroj ji.

It took me some time to get convinced that it is not E. stricta, mainly because this one is a lone tree in the wilderness along the Mysore Ooty road. 

Since it was far away it was not easy to get a clear picture of flowers.

I managed to crop one picture to see the leaflets a little closer. I am putting it here if at all you want to check.

I do see a pair of glands at the base of bottom leaflets.

I am revising the ID to Erythrina subumbrans (Hassk.) Merr.
