Dear All,
Sending images may be the species of Calliandra. The Species is grown in the ICAR campus (Barapani)as ornamental plant.So please confirm the ID.
Time of collection : 19/10/12
Location : Barapani Shillong (Meghalaya)
Habit : Small tree

It looks Calliandra eriophylla Benth.
The plant id known as Fairy-duster. It is a straggling, densely branched, deciduous shrub to 3 ft., though usually much shorter. It is native from San Diego County through New Mexico and south to Mexico. The rounded, puffball flower heads are 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter and contain several clusters of flowers The petals of fairy duster are inconspicuous; it is the long, pink filaments of the stamens that make the showy display. Although usually straight, the long stamens are sometimes twisted and curly.
