Elaeagnus conferta which is a very commonly cultivated plant in Manipur, well known for its orange-red fruit. Notice the leaves with wavy margins and the prominent veins on the underside. It flowers around November-December and the fruits ripen in March-April.

Picture of the seed. Elaeagnus species are generically called Silverberry. The name comes from the fact that the fruit is covered with silvery scales. So much so that when the fruits of Elaeagnus conferta are washed, silvery particles come off in the water.
