this is Albizzia lebbek (botanical name) or "Shireesh". It's family is mimosaceae. this is famous "shireesh" flower mentioned in our sanskrit literature. it is indigenous tree widely seen from north to south india. flowers are fragrant. many people mistake 'rain tree' for shireesh, which has similar but pink flowers.

my next question is how common or uncommon is it in our Mumbai
wildlife region. Because for first time i am looking at this tree in
last more than 3 years of my outings.
