It is difficult to come to a conclusion because many species like Z. roseum, Z. rubens, Z. arunachalensis, Z. cernuum, Z. nimmonii, Z. companulatum, Z. cornigerum etc have almost similar type of fruits. The Zingiber spp. with slender, stoloniferous and branched rhizomes belong to Z. caudatum (Imphal, Manipur), Z. cornigerum (Dibang valley, Arunachal Pradesh), Z. flavofusiforme ( this has terminal inflorescence; Assam & Meghalaya)and Z. roseum ( this plant is reported from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram,
Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland orissa and Uttar Pradesh).
