Excellent photographs. I think B.vahlii is a climber. All the sepcies reported by you are ornamental. There are many other species of Bauhinia in South India - mostly wild : B.foveolata, B.malabarica, B.semla (syn.B.retusa).. There are also other ornamental species like B.tomentosa,B.monandra, B.galpinii, B.phoenicea (a climber with ornamental brick-red flowers ). The last one has been reported from Shirdi ghats.
