Anemone coronaria L., Sp. pl. 1:539. 1753, nom. cons.

syn: Anemone nobilis Jord.

Tuberous rooted herb with twice-ternate basal leaves on long petioles; involucre leaves sessile; flowers up to 6 cm across, poppy-like, blue to white with elliptic 6-8 sepals. 
One of the commonest cultivated species, displayed at Delhi University Flower show.

Common name: Poppy anemone
