I am attaching the photographs of a tree (medium sized)   for confirmation of ID.  The photos ware taken on 27.12.2010 in Kabballi , near Shimoga.  Shimoga is  in the Western Ghats of Karnataka.

This could be Chionanthus mala-elengi (Dennst.) P.S.Green..

Yes Chionanthus mala-elengi from the family Oleaceae
