I still think it represents  Laportea interrupta as suggested by Dinesh Ji. I request Gurcharan Sir to recheck its identity. This is one of the common plant in Kerala and I have in my mind that it is L.interrupta. At present I  am helpless due to paucity of manuals.

Dear Dr. Santosh Kumar,
I have gone through the picture in link sent by you. You are correct
about the fact that the plant is very common in Kerala. In fact there
are two almost identical plant in the wilds of Kerala. One of them
induces a rash whereas the other one is totally harmless. Both the
plants appear very similar. Even the flowers are almost identical.
I am no botanist. But from the descrption of Mr. Phadke, I think that
Dr Gurcharan singh is correct. However, I am open for correction.
Regards
Yazdy Palia.

I had thrown the first hint, based largely on general habit and stinging
hairs. After critical examination of illustrations and pictures, I also
agree with Santosh ji, Dinesh ji, it is Lapportea interrupta.

Thanks everybody. Initially the picture was thought to match both plants.
Ultimately the plant does indeed appear to be Urtica parviflora
I learnt many things esp about Family Urticaceae.
