I have not studied the north-eastern Mednilla, but I think it could be Medinilla rubicunda or something closely related.

I think it is Medinilla rubicunda only as per GBIF specimens (one, two, three) and Plant illustration and as per 
https://efloraofindia.com/efi/melastoma-erythrophylla/
