Dear all,
Photographed at Kharghar Hill, Navi Mumbai earlier this month. The stem was emerging from the ground. Is it a ground orchid by any chance?

Regards,
Rohit

Some members of Orchidaceae, especially those of the primitive group
like Apostasioideae does look like Chlorophytum flower in bud
condition. Apostasioideae infact has only two genera, Apostasia with 2
anther (like that of other flowers) and Neuwiedia which had three
anthers. Otherwise orchids have pollinia or pollinarium. Only three
species of this sub family is found in India belonging to genus
Apostasia, namely, A. nuda, A. walichii and A. odorata.
I wish if someone from the North east could have shared their pictures.....
