This I recorded in August 23 at "the Fern" resort ,Jambughoda, Panchmahal , Gujarat . Leaves are simple but near the branch end they are trifoliate followed by inflorescence . I was intrigued ....ID suggestion was by Arun Kumar N ....later I went through the work by Gentry published in Flora Neotropica in1992 ....leaf arrangement matched the description provided therein for Tabebuia pallida .
As for the nomenclature ,"T. pallida" has been used as a synonym for T. heterophylla subspecies but Gentry rejected it . Later on Tabebuia was divided into three parts ....Tabebuia , Roseodendron and Handroanthus but this did not affect description of characters , T.pallida remained in tabebuia . Attached are pictures...recently planted ...height about 8 to 9 feet .
