B. papyrifera Marshall var. kenaica (W. H. Evans) A. Henry
Though treated as synonym of B. papyrifera by major databases, is treated as distinct species by Flora of North America. It differs from B. papyrifera Marshall in often pinkish to grayish white bark, smaller leaves 4-5 cm long (5-9 cm in B. papyrifera), less pointed leaf tip and more or less regularly serrate leaves.
