Thanks for the image. It looks close to B. glaucocarpa but not sure without looking at fruits: fruits are quite distinctive for glaucocarpa.

It looks much like the plant that I saw on the Manaslu Circuit near Rana (north of Deng) at about 1860 metres in the Budhi Gandaki valley growing in a very sheltered spot very close to the river on 22nd March 2017. See my post of 11th April when I mistakenly thought it was an Acacia.

Hi, This is Berberis lycium Royle. A common species around outer fringes of Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary.
