Greek "Aporos"  = 'puzzling' or 'difficult'.
 cardiosperma = heart-like seed.
  Kannada: Akarkal, Sali, Sarali, Sulla;  Konkan:  Sal;  Malayalam Kotili, Vetti;  Marathi: Ukveti;  Sans.: Valaka;  Tam.: Vittil, Vettikan.
