Carissa congesta is found everywhere in Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), Mumbai and is a welcome tasty snack during the hot summer months preceding the monsoon rains. This bush had ripe as well as unripe fruits. I usually wipe the sticky milky exudation when I pluck the fruit and pop it in my mouth.
