Annual herb, erect or ascending; stems 4-angled, smooth; leaves 6-8 in a whorl, 2-5 cm long, lanceolate, obovate or narrowly elliptic, acute or apiculate at tip; margins weakly scabrid, midrib prominent, surfaces glabrous; flowers white, 2.5-3.5 mm across, lobed for 3/4 or more; pedicel up to 5 mm long in fruit; fruit about 3.5-4.5 mm across, covered with long hooked hairs.

Common in Kashmir at higher altitudes. Photographed from Khillen marg, growing among rocks.
