A flowering grass

This tall grass growing on either side of Silonda Train in Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai is in flower. Note the seeds are similar to bamboo seeds, which is itself the tallest grass in the world!

 

On one stalk I found two silvery long filaments below the base of an unopened flower bud. Curiously, I scanned other stalks but didn’t find another anything like this!
