Dear All:

This is the flower that taught me to focus on the breeze stirred (never to stay put) stigma peering out at the world...

my dad had me practice moving my kodak browny ever so slightly on the stigma while peered at the tiny 1.5 cms glass viewer...

Have come along way with a 3 inch LCD display on my digital camera ,,, this is about 50+ years later,

but when I went to the garden to practice using the new digital contraption, I gravitated towards this flower,

practiced on  a familiar face, seven seas away..

Just as it is obligatory for any new gardener to plant a few hibiscus plants... its obligatory for us to photograph one carefully...

so it goes....

THE OBLIGATORY RED HIBISCUS... Jasud, Jaba, and today I found the name RUDRAPUSHPA ... what an interesting name....

Family:                Malvaceae

Subfamily:           Malvoideae

Tribe:                   Hibisceae

Genus:                 Hibiscus  L.

Species :             Hibiscus rosa- sinensis L

Enjoy....

Usha di

I realised the beauty of this plant when we planted 3 plants in our garden. Deep green serrated leaves and blood red flowers- no wonder it is a darling of goddess  Durga.
This time I observed it bloom between 6:30 and 7:15 in the morning. Tried to capture it in camera.
