Hi
u  are  right....just  like  other  members  of  family  Apocynaceae, the  Devil's  tree  also  has  showy  flowers.........the  flowers  are  sweetly-scented, white or  geenish,  in  little  clusters on  long  slender  stalks at  the  end  of the branch. They  bloom  in  this  season  only,  and the  air  saturates with a  wild aroma  mostly  at  night time. Check  out  this  pic  of  its  flowers.

It's called Chhatim in Bangla (possibly as it has a dense canopy), Saptaparni in Hindi & sc. name being Alstonia scholaris. Here is a link regarding further details:
