Can it be Polyalthia shendurunii as per Biotik ?
Looks different from images at Monoon simiarum

It may be Polyalthia shendurunii, dear Garg ji, bark of my tree seemed to be rough (expansion?), not smooth or glossy. Monoon simiarum is my suggestion only, thank you very much for ID my plant, with kind regards, Sam.

Dear Garg Sir,

I can't confirm based on these images but P. simiarum is not reported from Western Ghats
It could be Polyalthia fragrans or P. shendurunii or P. tirunelveliensis

Regards
Navendu

I think it's difficult to confirm the species of this plant based on the images taken by Sam. The image of the flower
provided is that of an immature flower and hence cant be conclusive. We need images of the fruits to narrow down our options further.
Also, Monoon shendurunii so far seems to be restricted to Agasthyamala region, and is known only from Shendurney wildlife sanctuary. It is not yet reported from Idukki, although other species like fragrans, coffeoides are distributed there.
All the species of this genus look more or less similar with only subtle differences in flower position and shape of the fruitlet.
I am not saying that it cannot be M. shendurunii, just saying that we dont have sufficient information to narrow it down to this species and that its equally likely to be any of the other species in the genus from the Western Ghats
Hence its better to keep this as Monoon sp and wait until we have more information.

Dear Navendu ji,
Thank you very much for the detailed explanations.  I am documented a tree from another location with flowers having all petals which is close to Polyalthia shendurunii that Saroj ji valuated and it's images could be provided shortly.
Kind regards, Sam.

This is in most likelihood, Monoon fragrans. Fruits would help to confirm.
