Mallotus philippensis Muelt.-Arg. Fruiting

Thought of sharing the winter fruiting and flowering seen today at the South end of the national park in Mumbai. Here's the evergreen Mallotus philippensis in beautiful fruiting. According to ' Trees of Mumbai', the colouring matter or a red dye, which is present in the glandular pubescence of ripe fruits is availble in Feb. and March.
