Cardiocrinum giganteum (Giant Himalayan Lily)

Cardiocrinum giganteum is the largest true lily species in the world native to Himalayas. The plants along with its inflorescence attains height of 8-10 feets.
The long inflorescence is raceme having 10-16 large white colored flowers with greenish shades outside and are streaked with purple inside. They are not only magnificent to see but also they have strong fragrance which attracts a large variety of pollinators.
The genus name 'Cardiocrinum' alludes to its large heart shaped leaves, from the Greek 'kardia' meaning heart and 'krinon' meaning lily.
