Hi Mangesh,
Great pictures of the Ghost tree, but what you
have labelled as the flowers are actually the fruit.
Please do not attempt to touch them as they are
covered with extremely small stinging hair.
With regards,
Neil Soares.

I was told by the guide at Kanha National Park that it is so called
because the white bark gives a ghostly appearance in the moonlight.

Hi,
Sterculia Urens is a tree with white bark
during  night time it looks brighter on dark background
as a someone  is standing  like ghost in the forest ,so it is
called Ghost tree.
May I right  ?
Thanks.

During night in a deciduous phase the white barked tree also appears inverted... as if roots are up and branches down like a ghost
