I have come across Giant milk weed across the railway tracks, road
edges and grasslands. The shrub is the host plant of crab spidr..my
these three pics document the spiderling, sub-adult and adult crab
spider from diffrent parts of Mumbai..and fully grown flower of the
said plant.

Name of Species: Calotropis gigantea
Common Name: giant milk weed (English) Mandar, rui (Marathi)
Family: Asclepiadaceae
Conservation status: Not known.
Photographed: Diffrent seasons.
Location: Diffrent locations.
Camera: Olympus SP570UZ
Lens: OLYMPUS ED LENS AF ZOOM 4.6 - 92 mm, 1:2.8 - 4.6
Description: erect branched shrub, whole plant contains milky juice,
common in waste places in all ranges.
Flowers: throughout the year.
