Even i encountered this pant at Kodai kanal flowering in December2009.
was first guessing it to be Barleria then concluded it is not. Please
help in Id.

Yes, Vinca major, truncate to subcordate leaves are distinctive

Leaf blade truncate or subcordate at base, margin 1.  and calyx lobes ciliate; pedicel 3-5 cm 1 Vinca major

Leaf blade narrow at base, margin and calyx lobes glabrous; pedicel 1-1.5 cm                          2 Vinca minor
