Dear sirs,

Submitting images of a terrestrial Orchid  for identification

Date/time: 28-8-2015/6.00 pm

Location:Mullaianagiri,Chikmagalur,Karnataka about 1700 msl

Habitat:Wild, terrestrial, on humus rich shola forest floor.

Habit: Herb.

Habenaria digitata - from Smita ji                                   

Kindly have a re-look into the ID of this orchid with reference to my another upload TSP-OCT2016-16-453 where in the plant is identified as Habenaria gibsonii. Both the plants appear strikingly similar and were found in the same locality...! - from Kumar ji.

No this is also not digitata.
This is Habenaria gibsonii var. foetida.
The lateral petal is bifurcated and the upper segment is longer than lower hence foetida. It will also have bad smell if you tried!!
