We came across this tree in the Nagla Block of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai which had exuded copious amounts of pinkish resin that had frozen as if time had stopped. It was soft to to touch and almost brittle in some parts. It was practically leafless but I managed to get a photo of a few leaves high up. Request idenity of this tree and if someone can explain why so much exudation?

Cheers,

In an earlier occassion , I commented that in our chilhood, we used
gum from Lannaea grandis (Beng. ji-ol) for our daily use. I think ,
village people still use it.
