Santhan Ji, I have no authority to question or validate your ID, but how do you differentiate it with Barringtonia racemosa (L.) Spreng.? Thank you Regards surajit
|
|
Both are entirely different with respect to leaf shape, venation, inflorescence, petals and fruit. Barringtonia sarcostachys (Blume) Miq. seems not an indigenous species. - from Santhan ji. |

Thank you very much Santhan Ji. I thought your pics look like those of B. racemosa pics in toptropicals and in natureloveyou.sg. But I must be wrong while comparing the photographs. However, KEW has type herbarium of B. sarcostachys where petiole is much longer than your pics. There are two forma too -
Thank you again Regards surajit

Is it similar to B. racemosa ? I have seen one specimen in Howrah Bot. Garden and a few in Andaman (Mt. Harriet entrance). Dr.Ogale
